Most drivers on the road believe that they are in total control of their vehicles at all times. But the reality for drivers is that at any moment, an unexpected event could cause one or more vehicles on the road to lose control. When this happens, it causes potentially significant danger for every vehicles in the area.

Each year there are more than 30,000 fatal motor vehicle crashes in the United States -with a large portion of them being preventable. In fact, rear-ending accidents alone cause nearly one million injuries and up to 2,000 fatalities per year.

Course overview

In this training course, we will detail the ways that drivers can utilize proper space management to minimize the risk of potentially dangerous accidents.

We will also discuss ways to safely navigate the space around your vehicle while making turns, crossing traffic, and sharing the road with other drivers.

The course satisfies the FMCSA requirements for Commercial Vehicle Space Management training.

Recognize the importance of proper space management while operating a CMV.

Vehicle Positioning

Position your vehicle an appropriate distance from other vehicles and hazards on the road.

Navigating Through Traffic

Safely navigate your vehicle in traffic and through left- and right-hand turns.

Distracted Drivers

Identify the signs of distracted drivers and understand how to distance your vehicle from them.
