Drivers of Commercial Motor Vehicles, or CMVs, are required to have a higher level of knowledge, experience, skills, and physical abilities than those who drive non-commercial vehicles. One of the most important skills for professional drivers is the ability to safely control their vehicle and avoid skidding, jackknifing, or other dangerous road situations.

In this training course, we will detail the causes of skidding and jackknifing and go over techniques for avoiding and recovering from them.

We will also point out the appropriate responses when faced with CMV emergencies and review unsafe acts that worsen hazardous situations.
